Grateful
~grateful
One of my favorite activities this time of the year is helping the children create “grateful turkeys.” After we talk about what the word “grateful” means, each child shares with us four things they’re grateful for - one for each of the four paper feathers adorning their turkey creation.
When you’re four years old, what are you grateful for?
From very practical to super sweet to deep and profound, the answers always delight me. For, they are a joyful reminder of overflowing blessings. And, that when we don’t lose sight of the most simple of these - the “grateful” list can be never-ending.
If today you need an uplifting reminder of blessings - take a step back with me to life as a child. Take a peek at what we’re grateful for …
my cars
my birthday
the playground
my family
God and Jesus
my class
my state
lizards
my dog
my brother and sister
whales and dolphins
Mom and Dad
cookies
the pool
being warm
cheese
worms
being in our house
Today and always, I am indeed grateful for a class of precious four-year-olds - for their laughter, their smiles, and best of all - their hugs.
